The list goes on....
The more topics you have on your list, the easier and more probable that you'll end up with at least one profitable topic.. With the list in hand, let's move into identifying the value of each topic on your list.
Remember!!!! CHOOSE YOUR TOPICS NOW!!!!
Step 2 ... Research Your Topics
Research your topics, you will find out which one is more profitable by looking at how often they are sought for in search engines, topics and subtopics. There are free tools on the internet to do just that! I repeat, its FREE!!!
You should try,
Yahoo Search Marketing: formerly known as Overture. It is an excellent FREE tool to find out how many searches have been performed on your topics. You can use this tool without signing up for account as well. By the way, should you desire to sign up for an account with Yahoo Search Marketing, it is free.
Click on Yahoo Search Marketing to utilise now!!! Its FREE!!!!
When you are at the site, just click your mouse on the 'tools' section to start researching.
Google AdWords tools: offers great ways to research your topics.
Google AdWords can also be used for advertising and increasing exposure to your blog. However, we are not going to focus on that. My objective is to provide you a FREE method to start generating money from the Internet. Remember, use the free tools for research only at this point. If you wish to do more wait out for my next blog on advance techniques on making money on the internet. To utilize the Google AdWord tool, you will need to setup a free account.
Once you click "Sign Up Now", you’ll be directed to the next page. Choose "Starter Edition". In fact, if you don’t have a hosted business page (domain or url) yet, this is perfect for you, as it will create a free one for you! With your Google AdWords account is set up, you can use the tools found in the members' area to continue your search for profitable keywords. There are two key areas of focus in this tool: Keyword Tool, Traffic Estimator. The Google AdWords "Keyword Tool" provides results much like that of the first tool I've talked about. In addition, Yahoo Search Marketing has the "Traffic Estimator". The "Traffic Estimator" does just as the name suggests, provides you an estimate of traffic that might be generated by the topic.
Earlier, we talked about "subtopics", which are topics in themselves that would naturally be associated to your "topic", such as guitar with a topic of "musical instruments". Now is a time that you want to research those as well.Continue with your research, utilise the free tools until you have a list that is most profitable as the topic of your blog.
Step 3 ... Decide on Free Web Hosting or Pay for Your Own Domain
Let's keep our commitment that earning money from the internet is in fact FREE.
However, some may ask about domain names and hosting for blogs. However, please know that you do not have to purchase a domain name and hosting to be successful. As you saw with Google AdWords, you can get a business page for free with your account. You can skip ahead to the next step if you choose, however, having your own page or domain will supercharge your results and should be considered. You may decide that you want your own domain name and web hosting account for your blog. This is easier to set up than you might imagine. Domain names and web hosting are very inexpensive these days.
Domain NameA domain name is a unique name to which you are identified on the Internet. Examples of this are www.blogger.com. Another example is, anyone who wants to run a search on topics on Google search engine would access Google by using their domain name of www.google.com.Make sure that the domain name you choose is related to your blog topic. If your blog topic is "playing lead guitars", then you might consider something like leadguitars.com.
Remember that you do not need a domain name if you will be using a free blogging service.
Web HostingThe Internet is a massive collection of web sites which are on computers which are referred to as servers that are all over the world. Each of those servers are web hosting servers. Web hosting is a very competitive and that is to your advantage. Hosting prices vary from $5 per month to hundreds for a dedicated server. With your blog you have very simple needs and a very inexpensive alternative for hosting. For web hosting, I suggest HostGator.
Step 4 ... Getting a Hosted Blog
If you opted for a domain name and web hosting for your blog in the previous step, you can skip this step and move on to the next. However, if you did not choose to get your own domain and web hosting for your blog, this step is vital for you. There are many options to choose from when it comes to blog hosting. There are many good hosted blogs to pick from, but we suggest that you use Blogger. Blogger is free. Blogger's account sign up is simply; you just follow the three steps listed on their page as soon as you arrive at the site.
One great feature about Blogger is that they now have an AdSense Tool that you can use to add Google AdSense to your blog. A convenient way for you to earn money!!!!
Step 5 ... Customise Your Blog
It is a good idea to make your blog pleasant to look at and easy to read for your visitors. Remember, this is not a private journal that only you will see. The main purpose here is to make money, and the look and feel of the blog should be conducive to that. Once your blog is set up the way that you want it to be, move on to the next step.
Step 6 ... Finding Revenue Sources For Your Blog
This is where it starts getting exciting, but there is still some work to be done in order to get things set up properly. In this step, you will be signing up for various programs that will allow you to use their ads on your blog, in exchange for a portion of the income derived from those ads. Google AdSense works great on blogs. If you have a blog hosted by Blogger, you can set up AdSense ads right away, as discussed previously. However, if you are not using Blogger, you will have to wait a bit to get AdSense on your blog because you will have to apply for a Google AdSense account.
Note: You have to have some actual content on your blog first.
Let's start with signing up for accounts that will allow you to make recommendations of products in your blog posts. Of course, you will choose products and services that relate to your overall topic, and especially to each specific blog post that you make. You will learn more about that later.
ClickBank:
First, you will need a ClickBank account. Please read the directions at ClickBank thoroughly when you sign up, and follow those directions. Once you are signed up, read the information that ClickBank provides about hoplinks. These are the links that you will need to promote specific products within your blog.
Commission Junction
Next, you will want a Commission Junction account, for the same purpose. At Commission Junction, you will want to sign up as a publisher, not as an advertiser (it can get confusing). As a publisher, you will be publishing or promoting products or services for advertisers on your blog. Once you've signed up for the Commission Junction account, you will be able to login and start applying to promote specific programs. Once you've been accepted, you can use your Commission Junction control panel to get links for the products you wish to blog about.
PayPal
It is a fairly common practice to accept PayPal Donations on blogs as well. Since the information that you provide to your readers is free, many will make donations to you via PayPal using a button that you can place on your blog site. You will need a PayPal account, and you should follow the directions at the site for signing up with PayPal. Once you have made several blog posts, you will be ready to apply for a Google AdSense Account, unless you are using Blogger. Once you are approved for a Google AdSense account, you will need to place the Google AdSense code on your pages. We suggest that you spend a great deal of time at the Google AdSense site reading the information that is provided there to get a good understanding of how to best use the code on your blog pages. There are other sources of revenue that you should consider adding to your blog, which will be discussed later.
Step 7 ... Remember that this is how you earn revenue.
Do not make your blog a one big advertisement. It must be interesting and useful to the readers as well.Research Topic for ContentBy utilizing your favorite search engine, such as Google, you can research your topic, or any and all related subtopics, that you have chosen for the focus of your blog. For example, if your own blog is about low carb diets, you would type low carb diet blogs or low carbohydrate diet blogs in your research. You might even expand that to diets in general, so that you could explain the differences between low calorie diets verses low carb diets.Visit other related websites, subscribe to free newsletters, or look at other blogs to get ideas.Crafting the Blog ContentIn Step 1, you researched the most profitable topic for your blog. Now it is time to get down to crafting the blog content. Here is a guideline to help you get started.
• What is my topic?
• What do I want to share with other about this topic?
• What benefit will the reader receive from reading my blog?
• Do I want the reader to:o Respond by posting a comment on the blog?o Just consume the information for his or her benefit?
o Come back again?
Product / Service Topics
If you have chosen a product or service as your topic to write about, answering the questions above becomes fairly easy.Look at the various products or services that relate to your overall blog topic, choose one, and base your post on the product, using your affiliate link for that product.Review Before PostingAfter you have crafted your blog content, take the time to review it. Here is a little checklist of items to do before posting your blog content.
Run grammar checker.
Run spell checker.
Proof read (ask a friend to proofread as well).
Review the items in "Crafting the Blog Content" on this page. After you have executed all the items noted above, you are ready to post content to your blog.
Step 8 ... Get Noticed
Promoting a blog is unlike any other type of web promotion you may do. In fact, in most cases, promoting a blog and building a readership is quite easy, but it does take an effort on your part.
Taking Action
Immediately after making a blog post, you need to inform the blogosphere that you have updated your blog - and you should update your blog at least once every day. This is done by pinging certain blog directories, which is easily done. First, if you are using Blogger, you can set it to automatically ping Weblogs each time you make a new post. Again, Blogger makes this very easy. You can also use Ping-O-Matic, which will allow you to ping several directories at once, and is quite effective.Once you arrive at the Ping-O-Matic site, enter the website address of your blog into the space provided, check the boxes next to the blog directories that you want to ping, and then hit the button at the bottom of the page. It's simple!
Using Google AdWord to Help Promote Your Blog
You can also use Google AdWords to promote your blog. You already have a Google AdWords account, which you set up earlier. It is very important that you understand that you will be charged by Google for clicks you receive to your blog. However, that money is not paid upfront. It is paid after you have received the clicks.
Building Readership
It takes time to build a readership for your blog. You should not expect to start making a six figure income overnight. It all depends on how hard you work at promoting your blog, the quality of your blog, and the topic that you have chosen.
Step 9 ... Finding Other Revenues for Your Blogs
Other Advertising Networks
Here is the list of additional advertising networks that you should consider:
• Amazon• ValueClick Media• TradeDoubler• AdBrite• BlogAds• LinkShare
• ChitikaSelling
Advertising on Your Blog
Another option of earning money with your blog is to sell advertising space on your blog. However, you won't really be in a position to do this until you have a large number of readers - in the hundred thousands. You will get there, you just have to work at it. It is important to use all the resources that you have for revenue on your blog. Remember that advertisements on the side borders of the blog pages is essential, but recommending products or services within your posts is also essential to your success. As your readers learn to trust your judgment, sales will skyrocket when you make a recommendation. Therefore, choose products and services to recommend carefully.
Conclusion: Well then, I'm done giving basic tips on how to make easy money on the internet without paying for anything. I'll continue with the advance techniques on the next posting.
